Over the past few years, there has been a dispute between the disclosures of public records to the public versus the issue of privacy invasion. Most people say personal records should be kept confidential at all cost to protect everyone from identity theft, one of the fastest growing crimes in the US. But contrary to this, some are also in favor of public records and actually see this as an advantage.
